This is a corinthian column... Used for a business card that I'm making not for me. ;_;Well, not historically accurate of course, but never the less it has the characteristics of a real corinthian column. You know those damn columns that everyone (including me) gets it wrong. Or, at least, in my case, conceptually accurate. I just don't want to infringe upon the old greek/roman artist's rights or the RIAA would be up my ass before you can say "so sue me!"
Alrighty then, this mesh is all subdivision. No Polys at all. (I'm a lifetime member of No Polygon Association of Associates) The texture is all whitie, with no association with the KKK. The reason it looks red is because of the HDRI lighting used, somekind of a sunset look that I want to achieve. With a whole lot of shadows to accentuate the relief part of the leaves. The chrome lookin flower on the top center part of the column is actually a different material, whereas the rest goes into a matte stoney look, I choose a metallic metal chrome in order to accentuate the whole darn thing by reflecting part of the leaves. I don't think you can see it that clearly in the preview you see on the top part of this post, but if you open the full res and see it full screen, you'd be able to appreciate more of the intricate detail that come into this model.
In the end, it looks more like a pedestal instead of a column. grrr. But a true artist would recognize the corinthianness of the thing. ;)
