What the holy mother fuck*in' god hell is this? Maya 2008? Tradition dictates that it should be maya 9 released this month, not maya 2008! This is another autodesk "Integration" Marketing scheme calling everything 2008 and makes you upgrade every year like every other company does.
This came in my inbox today: Maya 2008 and 3DS Max 2008. They are the latest release as scheduled launched around siggraph event.
Anyway, I'm not sure if I want to upgrade to maya 9 (or as Autodesk would love to call it, Maya 2008) Because we'll be stuck with maya 8.5 users, maya 8.0 users and those who upgraded to maya '08. LOL :D Anyway, it may have some fixes to the crashes autodesk introduced when they acquired maya coupla years ago, and more nucleus feature's released with this one. I'll think about it for a few days, but I suppose I'll be getting the upgrade after all. I'm a sucker for new features. :P
