Softimage?

I've been learning Softimage|XSI this past coupla days, and I find it much better than maya. It can handle 2 million poly like nothing due to their gigapolygon core. Maya would've crushed under that might. Doing SubD modeling is much better with it too. I haven't tried any "real" rendering work with it yet, but I suppose it would be on par (or perhaps even better?) with Maya due to Mental Ray. What I'm delighted with XSI is that it comes with syflex and joe alter's hair installed. It can use QWERTY keys just like in maya, too, but I find that with a little bit of getting used to, XSI's shortcuts can be much more productive than Maya's.

This is because Maya kept sucking after Autodesk bought it. It progressively go worse and worse with each version. 8.5 is much better than 8.0 in stability and it's got nCloth, but the entire system seems outdated. The x64 version is slower than the x86. (at least on windows system) That it's all a joke of an expensive software. The only thing you can expect to is the nucleus system. The demo seems out of this world. Perhaps it would reinvigorate Maya with 9.0 version this August.

Autodesk, would you please sell alias?
